The ICT sector in Vietnam has continued growing on the back of strong performance in Internet-based services, while other traditional telecom services, such as fixed-line telephony or even mobile telephony, have either approached saturation or have been declining. In order to keep up, domestic telecom providers are investing to enhance their 4G infrastructure and offer price-competitive packages to gain traction in mobile broadband and fixed broadband. In the fixed broadband segment, major market players have capitalised on the deployment of fibreoptic networks. So much so that fibreoptic technology led to a change of strategy for telecom companies as they are now increasingly offering affordable bundled packages including fixed broadband, fixed-line telephony and pay TV services.
