This means, 90% of the providers offer patient portals to their patients in the United States. However, there are still some unmet needs of the patients that require more actions, in order to drive the effective use of patient portals across the developing countries. Despite the higher adoption rate of patient portals, the number of patients that use the portal to take care of their health is low. According to a report published by the American Hospital Association (AHA), only 30% of the patients in the United States actively use patient portal. The scenario is similar in the European countries, such as Germany and France, where the adoption is higher, but the actual use is yet to reach the satisfactory percentage.
