Retinal drugs are the medications that are used in the treatment of retinal diseases. Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents and corticosteroids are the two major drug classes that are being used for the treatment of various retinal diseases such as wet age-related Macular degeneration (AMD), macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO), diabetic macular edema (DME), diabetic retinopathy, and myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV). Among them, anti-VEGF agents are considered the gold standard for the treatment of various retinal diseases such as AMD, DME, and RVO.
