全球营养品市场报告(2015-2019年)
The term "nutraceutical" was coined from the words "nutrition" and "pharmaceutical", by Stephen Defelice, in 1989. Defelice was the founder and chairman of the Foundation for Innovation in Medicine, an American organization that encourages medical health discovery. A nutraceutical substance is any food, or part of a food, that provides medical or health benefits, and food that helps in the prevention and treatment of disease. Such products generally range from dietary supplements, isolated nutrients, and specific diets to genetically engineered foods or herbal products. Consumers' quality of life, with respect to income, spending, and lifestyle, has improved over the years with economic development. However, economic development has also presented consumers with lifestyle diseases, which begins with the first major lifestyle change -food habits of consumers. The consumption of junk food has increased manifold and has led to the emergence of numerous diseases related to nutritional and mineral deficiencies. Nutraceuticals can play an important role in controlling these diseases.
