《第一财经日报》1月2日报道，面对上百亿的市场蛋糕，虚拟运营商们蠢蠢欲动。埃森哲中国通信、媒体和高科技事业部总监印敏认为，虚拟运营商在2014~2015年的重点是快速发展客户基础、迅速占领市场。

An ANPR system is a combination of different types of software and hardware which is primarily used to identify number plates of moving vehicles, and obtain information about the user via the license plate number. The system is extremely beneficial in tracking vehicles as it successfully notes a vehicle's number plate, which is its UID, and then compares it with an existing database. ANPR systems are primarily used for security by police departments and owners of malls in parking spaces and for efficiently managing traffic in a region. The system uses surveillance cameras and computers to capture digital images of number plates. It also stores the images and enables a computer analysis of them when needed.

Three-dimensional flat panel TVs display images with depth perception. To achieve this, these devices employ various technologies such as stereoscopic display, multi-view display, and 2Dplus-depth. Special glasses are required to experience this depth perception technology. Other technologies such as an active shutter 3D system and a polarized 3D system or an autostereoscopic system (which facilitates 3D viewing without the need for glasses) are also used by the vendors. This technology is in great demand for gaming purposes, viewing 3D content, and television broadcast.

Smart washing machines are devices that are equipped with advanced communications technology that help them function faster and use energy efficiently. They are designed to use smart grid technology implemented by utility companies. Smart grids are intelligent electric grids that communicate the demand and supply of power among end-users and power suppliers to maximize the efficiency of appliances used, thereby minimizing power wastage. Smart washing machines use the smart grid power source to reduce power consumption during peak hours and ensure use during off-peak hours, thereby optimizing energy usage. Furthermore, smart washing machines are connected to wireless connecting devices through the internet and, thus,can be accessed and controlled by these devices from any remote location.

Over the past few years, due to technological innovations, a shift from the traditional methods of surgeries to robot-assisted techniques have been observed. Robotic surgery is a technique in which a surgeon performs surgery using a computer that remotely controls very small instruments attached to a robot. The main aim of robotic surgery is to reduce the patient’s stay in the hospital, to minimize the pain and scarring associated with surgery, and to facilitate faster recovery.

They are used by trained professionals, such as cinematographers and TV broadcasters, in the production of movies and TV broadcasts, both live and recorded.

Smart lighting refers to lighting systems that intelligently enhance the lighting efficiency by using integrated sensors, control switches, and communication interfaces. These lighting systems when deployed in rooms can adjust and alter the color and intensity of the lights based on the intensity of natural light. This reduces the overall power expenditure, thereby making these smart lighting systems an efficient option. Smart lighting systems are deployed in a wide range of application areas such as in commercial places, industrial buildings, government buildings, and residential buildings.
