厄瓜多尔农业部门报告(2019-2020年)
The primary sector presents a fragmented competitive landscape that includes a wide range of
economic agents and products. Given the high participation of the sector in formal employment in the
country (26.1% as of December 2017), it features a high number of micro-, small and medium-sized
producers. Nevertheless, there is a strong presence of large companies, both of domestic and foreign
origin, in key agricultural segments such as the production of bananas, cocoa beans, shrimp and tuna.
These are also the most attractive segments for new investors, given the specialisation of Ecuador’s
agriculture sector in these products.
