    Similar to a mechanical water meter, a smart water meter is connected to a data logger that continuously monitors a building's or home's water consumption. However, whereas traditional water meters only measure total consumption, smart water meters are Internet-capable devices that record when and how much water is being used, providing real-time information that enables companies and individual consumers to understand and monitor their water consumption. Smart water meters help water utilities, in particular, to manage their water networks more efficiently and provide better customer service, chiefly by allowing them to accurately determine water consumption at peak periods. For instance, washing machines create pulses when in use, which are logged by a data logger in a predefined frequency. User-defined parameters, such as flow rate, time, and volume, disaggregate the information provided by these pulses and assign them to different water-use "events." The system has various technology-enabled products such as transponders, antennas, sensors, and wireless communication devices equipped with RFID technology. Vehicles are charged a toll automatically as they drive through toll gates using ETC systems. This is done by wireless communication devices installed at toll gates and RFID devices mounted on vehicles. ETC systems help reduce traffic congestion and streamline the traffic management process.

  • 融合链接拓扑结构和用户兴趣的朋友推荐方法
    提出一种新的朋友推荐方法,该方法同时使用用户兴趣和朋友关系这2种因素来为目标用户推荐朋友,对PageRank算法进行改进,提出一种能同时融合上述2种因素的Topic_Friend_PageRank(TFPR)模型。首先,采用LDA(latent Dirichlet allocation)分析用户发布的消息内容,将用户表示为若干主题上的分布,从而建模用户的兴趣。接下来,使用加权的PageRank算法建模用户在整个链接拓扑中的重要程度和用户之间朋友关系的相似性。最后根据主题感知的PageRank思想,将用户兴趣融入前面提到的加权PageRank中,形成同时融合用户兴趣和朋友关系的TFPR模型。采用新浪微博数据验证所提模型的性能,实验证明该模型能同时得到较高的准确率和召回率。
  • 基于轨迹位置形状相似性的隐私保护算法
    为了降低轨迹数据发布产生的隐私泄露风险,提出了多种轨迹匿名算法。然而,现有的轨迹匿名算法在计算轨迹相似性时忽略了轨迹的形状因素对轨迹相似性的影响,因此产生的匿名轨迹集合的可用性相对较低。针对这一问题,提出了一种新的轨迹相似性度量模型,在考虑轨迹的时间和空间要素的同时,加入了轨迹的形状因素,可以在多项式时间内计算定义在不同时间跨度上的轨迹的距离,能够更加准确、快速地度量轨迹之间的相似性;在此基础上,提出了一种基于轨迹位置形状相似性的隐私保护算法,最大限度地提高了聚类内部轨迹的相似性,并且使用真实的原始位置信息形成数据“面罩”,满足了轨迹k-匿名,在有效地保护轨迹数据的同时,提高了轨迹数据的可用性;最后,在合成轨迹数据集和真实轨迹数据集上的实验结果表明,本算法花费更少的时间代价,具有更高的数据可用性。
  • 分布式多网关无线mesh网公平协作路由算法
    现有的协作路由协议不能公平地分配无线网络资源,无法满足网络最小流的吞吐量需求。将多并发流的协作路由问题形式化成一个最大化网络整体效用的凸优化问题,并基于对偶分解和子梯度,提出一种分布式的多网关无线mesh网公平协作路由算法FCRMG。实验结果表明,与基于期望传输时间的非协作路由和基于竞争感知的协作路由相比,FCRMG算法在保证网络吞吐量的前提下,能显著提高最小业务流的吞吐量。

  • 低Tg柔性聚合物3D光电子共晶焊接的增强方法
    We present a cost-efficient and reproducible technique for assembling 3D components to mechanically bendable low glass transition temperature (Tg) polymeric interposers. First, we propose localized soldering using a focused hot air gun. Second, we use eutectic solders, which permit reflow at temperatures close to the Tg of the interposer. Then, we adopt differential heating and cooling in order to enable rapid heat dissipation through the interposer during soldering. Furthermore, we apply a metal jig as a load to maintain contact between the interposer and the 3D component during soldering. Also, the jig serves as a shield to protect the interposer surface outside the soldering zone from thermal loading, and more importantly as a passive heat sink. We showcase our approach by manufacturing a test vehicle on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) interposer having a Tg of 71 deg. C. We solder a 30 mA DC current SMD LED by means of a eutectic compound of 48 w. % Sn and 52 w. % In at 118 deg. C.
