Vietnam, with its coastline spanning over 1,860 miles boasts of a large aquaculture industry. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of United Nations, the annual fish consumption in Vietnam was averaged at 78 lbs. per capita during 2013-2015, much higher than the average of APAC, which stood at 51.8 lbs.during the same period, and is expected to grow to about 83 lbs. by 2025.By 2025, APAC countries will have a major share in the amount of fish consumed,both captured and cultured (about 31 million metric tons), in addition to the current supply (about 147 million metric tons).
