全球人类疫苗市场报告(2016-2020年)
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a vaccine is a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose. Human vaccines are of two types: preventable human vaccines and therapeutic human vaccines. Preventable human vaccines are used both for adults and children. Pediatric human vaccines are used to immunize children against various infectious diseases such as diphtheria, influenza, hepatitis, pneumococcal diseases, and meningococcal diseases. According to the classification adopted by the US FDA, children are classified as newborn, infant, child, and adolescent, ranging from birth to 21 years of age. However, the European Medicines Association (EMA) classifies pediatrics ranging from birth to 18 years of age. Therapeutic vaccine is a biological entity developed for inducing attack against a diseased cell or tissue. There are two approved therapeutic vaccines namely Provenge and Oncophage. A large number of therapeutic vaccines are under clinical development and are expected to be launched during the forecast period.
