    Single-mode optical fiber cables are designed for the transmission of a single ray or mode of light as a carrier and are used for long-distance signal transmission. This type of optical fiber has wide usages in fiber-optic communications, where they allow transmission over longer distances and at higher bandwidths than wire cables. Instead of using metal wires, the adoption of single-mode optical fiber cables has increased over the period to send signals with lesser amounts of loss. Increase in internet penetration is the primary growth factor for the global single-mode optical fiber market. The number of internet users is continuously on the rise, and consumers are using various online platforms for different purposes. To keep up with the growth in demand for higher bandwidth and high-speed data and to meet the rise in data traffic, network operators are upgrading their networks and are deploying optical fiber technologies. Single-mode optical fiber enables faster data transfer, provides greater bandwidth, and has a very less chance of data loss when compared to the electric signals of copper wires.
