Construction waste management involves monitoring, collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal of waste generated during construction activities. Rapidly growing construction activities worldwide generate large amounts of waste material that can pollute the environment if not managed properly. Overproduction, poor handling of materials, inappropriate storage, design alteration, and manufacturing flaws also lead to increasing this waste. Construction waste include broad range of unwanted materials, most of which can be recycled and reused. Common construction waste materials include.

Concrete superplasticizers are a type of admixtures that play an important role in construction materials by providing enhanced strength, binding property, flowability, and easy workability to concrete applications. They are formed by linear polymerization of sulfonic acid groups attached to the polymer backbone. Concrete superplasticizers are available in two forms: powder and liquid. End-users usually prefer the liquid form of concrete plasticizers, as the powdered form is difficult to add to the concrete mixtures and maintain uniformity. Concrete superplasticizers are used in ready-mix concrete, precast concrete, high-performance concrete, shotcrete, and others.

Generators are backup devices that provide temporary AC or DC power using the supplied fuel (gasoline, diesel, or gas). They are used as emergency power source for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. A typical generator is powered by a fuel engine. Portable generators provide AC power for standby non-hardwired applications. Although the low-end models support only a few basic home appliances, the high-end portable generators can provide backup AC power to an entire house. Apart from the residential sector, these generators are widely used in commercial buildings as well as industrial and infrastructure sites. They provide power supply in areas that lack grids.

Bulldozer are also referred to as crawler dozers or track dozers. They are equipped with a blade and have the ability to push rocks and debris and to remove trees and clear ground. Bulldozers are used for different types of infrastructure-related activities in the construction of structures, in mines and quarries, and in other engineering projects.

The reuse potential of tire chips as coarse aggregates in pavement concrete was examined in this research by investigating the effects of low- and high-volume tire chips on fresh and hardened concrete properties. One concrete control mixture was designed, which well exceeds CDOT Class P concrete requirements. The coarse aggregate component of the mixture was replaced in 100%, 50%, 30%, 20%, and 10% by volume using tire chips. The fresh concrete properties, compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting strength, permeability, and freeze/thaw durability were tested in the lab to evaluate the potential of including tire chips in concrete paving mixes. The testing results indicate tire chips can be used to replace coarse aggregate in concrete pavement mixtures. Two mixtures with 10% coarse aggregate replaced by tire chips had the best performance. The workability was comparable to the control mixture, and the air content reached 6%. At 28 days of age, the average compressive strength of the two mixtures was significantly less than the control but still exceeded CDOTs specification of 4200 psi; the averaged flexural and splitting tensile strengths were higher than 900 psi and 590 psi respectively. In addition, the two mixtures exhibited moderate resistance to chloride-ion penetration at 28 days of age and high freeze/thaw durability. The rubberized mixtures investigated in this study sustained a much higher deformation than the control mixture when subjected to compressive, flexural, and splitting loadings.
