In carded packaging, the product is placed on paperboard and is covered with plastic
from the top. Heat-seal dispersion coating is applied to the paperboard. In non-carded
skin packaging, the food is placed under a skin wrap plastic cover and a vacuum is
created to avoid contamination due to oxidation. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene
(PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and other plastic resins are
used for skin packaging.
