MDM is a type of software that is used to review or monitor the performance of a mobile device in terms of data speed, usage, signal strength, and data transfer. With the help of MDM software or solutions, it is easier to track the amount of data being transferred to other users. MDM solutions have easy user-interface enabling easy access to details about the speed of data upload or download over the internet. In addition, the solution also provides a graphical representation of data usage and alerts the user about the threshold limit. MDM solutions also automatically disconnect internet access once the user exceeds the data usage limit. Apart from tracking data usages, MDM solutions also detect an operator's network and country code, which helps the user decide the level of trustworthiness before accessing the network.

Smart TV, also known as connected TV or hybrid TV, is a TV set with integrated internet capabilities or a TV set-top box that offers advanced connectivity and computing abilities. This TV allows users to install and run advanced applications based on specific platforms and should not be confused with an IPTV, which can be accessed only through the internet. Smart TVs relay content such as photographs, movies, and music from devices attached to them using a DLNA such as Windows Media Player. They also provide access to broadcasting TV channels and internet-based services such as catch-up and video-on-demand.

UC&C can be integrated into business process software to help organizations reduce operational costs and boost productivity.

There are two hardware-based techniques for protecting confidential data: encryption and decryption. Encryption is a process that involves encoding data into a form that is accessible only to authorized users. The process of encoding data requires an encrypting algorithm, which generates ciphertext that can be read only after decryption. In hardware-based encryption, individual processors perform encryption and decryption, which prevents unauthorized access by fraudsters.

In this research, two approaches to achieve transistors with sub-60mV/dec swing are explored. Feedback FET (FBFET) uses positive feedback to induce an abrupt change in current with a small change in the gate voltage. Experimental results show FBFET can achieve less than 2mV/dec swing, with Ion/Ioff ratio larger than six-orders-of-magnitude. Simulation is used to illustrate the operating principle, and to evaluate the potential of FBFET. Another approach is to integrate negative capacitance element onto the gate stack of MOSFETs. The negative capacitance does not change the transport physics, but rather seeks to “amplify” the gate voltage electrostatically to achieve less than 60mV/dec swing. 

Virtual surgical skills trainers are proving to be very useful for the medical training community. With efforts to increase patient safety and surgeon expertise, the need for surgical skills trainers that provide training in an operating room (OR) like condition is now more pressing. To allow for virtual surgery simulators to be instructed in an OR-like setting we have created a large display based immersive surgical simulation environment. Using the Microsoft Kinect we have created a real-time simulation environment that tracks the test user and appropriately adjust the perspective of the virtual OR for an immersive virtual experience.

The work in this report presents a multi-material RP-OMO that circumvents this limitation by combining a silicon nitride optical material with a lower mechanical loss polysilicon material to attain simultaneous high Qm and Qo. The multi-material RP-OMO structure boosts the Qm of a silicon nitride RP-OMO by more than 2× toward realization of the simultaneous high Qm >22,000 and Qo >190,000 needed to maximize RP-OMO performance. With its high Qm, the multi-material RP-OMO exhibits a best-to-date phase noise of -114 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset from its 52-MHz carrier—a 12 dB improvement from the previous best by an RP-OMO constructed of silicon nitride alone.
